NO WAY - a Dead...

New year = New blog

Day 5: Under the Kitchen Sink

I have been inspired to get more organized this year and to have a daily home goal after reading about the 21 day organizing challenge on A bowl full of lemons. I had already decided to join in but I hadn't decided yet if I would post about my participation on a blog. But after today's "adventure" I just had to. I have completed two other challenges after joining late, and plan to post about them later.

It doesn't look too bad right? A bit disorganized - but after a quick wipe and some trusty bins that have to fit around the HUGE garbage disposal - I'll be done quickly. So, I began to empty everything out, and as I did I peered in the back right and said to myself "What is that?

No WAY! A mousetrap and DEAD MOUSE! I shrieked for my husband who was upstairs. Trying to act calm, I asked him when he put a mousetrap in there. He doesn't remember and I am beyond grossed out that a dead mouse could have been there for months. I kindly ask him to take care of it so I can continue my challenge. He informs me that the mouse is in full rigor so it must not have been dead long and that it did not stink. (TMI - I know for me too!).

So after I put on gloves, scrub the cabinet, and everything in it I can actually organize it. After a quick trip to the dollar store because the contact paper was necessary - Viola! I haven't put the folding dish rack away in ages - I do like how it looks off my counter :)

I was even inspired to tidy up the top of the sink and windowsill too!

So thank you A bowl full of lemons for creating the challenge today - this was apparently a necessary task for us!!
